What you type stays with you
Every calculator runs in your browser using JavaScript served from this site. The numbers you enter are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, never stored on a server, and never used for advertising. Closing the tab erases them.
What we store on your device
One word: your theme choice ("light" or "dark"), kept in your browser's local storage so the site remembers the setting. It contains nothing personal, is never transmitted, and clearing your browser data removes it. We set no cookies.
What we don't do
No analytics, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, no accounts, no email collection, no social buttons, no third-party fonts or scripts. The site's Content-Security-Policy technically prevents pages from making requests to other servers.
Hosting logs
Like nearly every website, the hosting provider that serves these files (a static content delivery network) may keep standard, short-lived request logs — IP address, page requested, user agent — for security and operations. We don't receive or analyze them beyond aggregate request counts.
Advertising
Quiet Zeros is ad-supported. Ad spaces are clearly labeled, kept away from calculator inputs, and never fed anything you type. If we enable a third-party ad network in the future, this policy and the site's consent controls will be updated first, and visitors in regions that require consent (such as the EEA and UK) will be asked before any ad cookies are set. Today, the ad spaces contain no third-party code.
Affiliate links
The accounts & cards page may contain affiliate links, marked in its disclosure. Clicking one takes you to the institution's site, which has its own privacy policy; nothing about you is transmitted by us, because we hold nothing to transmit. Affiliate relationships never influence rankings or the rates shown.
Location-aware defaults
The tax calculator preselects your state by asking our own edge server which region your connection comes from — the same information any website's server inherently sees. No GPS is used, no permission prompt appears, no third-party geolocation service is contacted, and nothing is stored: the server computes the region from the connection and forgets it. The preselection is a convenience default you can change freely; if the request fails or you've already picked a state, nothing happens.
Comments
Calculator pages have an anonymous comment box. It collects exactly what you type — an optional display name and the comment — and nothing else: no email, no account, no IP address stored. A Cloudflare Turnstile check runs when you post (loading only on pages with comments) to keep bots out; Cloudflare processes your IP transiently for that check under its own privacy policy. Comments are stored in a database we control and can be removed on request.
The Excel templates
Downloaded templates are ordinary .xlsx files with no macros, no external links, and no callbacks — once downloaded, they have no connection to this site at all.
